There are a variety of standards that the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has put in place for the sake of those workers who are prone to falls while working. OSHA demands that every industrial and construction site should have the right fall protection systems that protect workers from getting injured during a fall. This has helped to reduce the number of accidents and deaths that have been brought about by falls in the recent years. There is a variety of fall protection equipment that helps workers to stay safe as they carry out different activities. Highlighted below are some of the equipment.

Guardrail Systems
These types of systems are usually used by individuals who work in the construction sites or by roof repair companies. The rails are meant for support and they are effective at making sure that a fall does not occur. The rails can easily be set up at the edge of a roof or a building that is under construction. In addition to this, guardrail can also be used on ladders or even surfaces that are slightly curved.

Try Using Fall Arrest Systems
Fall arrest systems are basically used to prevent a fall that may be happening already. In most cases, such systems include body harnesses. A body harness is capable of preventing the most dangerous falls. If a fall happens and a worker is wearing a body harness, it will be hard for him or her to hit the ground. The best body harnesses are made using strong materials that can support the weight of the worker.

Warning Line Systems
The good thing about these types of fall protection systems is that they help to keep the worker aware of how far they are going towards the edge. This ensures that the construction worker does not move too close to the edge in such a way that they can easily fall over. Most roofing contractors make use of the warning line systems a lot of times.

Fall Restraint Systems
Restraint systems are really helpful in cases where guardrails fail. The restraint systems include rope lanyards, web lanyards, and cable lanyards. The rope lanyard is usually effective because of its elastic nature and this helps to prevent a dangerous fall especially during movements or position changes. The fall restraint systems ensure that the worker does not go too far to the edge which might end up triggering a fall.

Safety Net Systems
Lastly, we have these types of systems which have the ability to reduce the speed of a fall. They act as safety nets whenever a fall takes place.
